Eightpoint Supports Hurricane Melissa Relief Efforts in Jamaica
In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa, Eightpoint has made a financial contribution to support relief and recovery efforts for communities in western Jamaica.
Eightpoint's donation will help fund essential supplies and rebuilding efforts for families who have been displaced or severely impacted by the storm.
Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 hurricane, has affected more than 400,000 people, damaging homes, infrastructure, and critical services across parts of the island. Many communities remain without reliable electricity and access to basic necessities.
“Eightpoint has always believed that technology is only part of our impact,” said Deniz Gezgin, CEO of Eightpoint. “Our responsibility extends to the communities around us, especially those facing sudden and life-altering crises. Jamaica is hurting, and we’re committed to doing our part to help families restore hope and rebuild their lives.”
Supporting Emergency Relief and Recovery
Eightpoint’s contribution supports the Hurricane Melissa Relief Mission, an initiative focused on delivering emergency goods and assistance to families in the hardest-hit areas.
Relief shipments include critical supplies such as:
-
Batteries and flashlights
-
Tarpaulins for temporary shelter
-
Canned foods and rice
-
Hygiene and sanitation products
These supplies are being distributed directly to families facing urgent needs as recovery efforts continue.
Coordinating Relief Shipments from Florida
On November 8, 2025, members of the Eightpoint team helped prepare and ship multiple bulk containers of emergency supplies from Florida to Kingston, Jamaica. From there, the shipments were transported to western regions of the island where the damage has been most severe.
Eightpoint team members worked alongside volunteers to organize and pack essential items destined for communities still facing shortages of food, water, and other necessities.
The company’s financial contribution also helps ensure that collected goods can be shipped and distributed efficiently to those who need them most.
Partnering with Local Relief Organizations
The relief effort is coordinated by the Island Hope Relief Team, which continues to work with volunteers and community partners to deliver supplies and assist families rebuilding after the storm.
“Every contribution matters,” the Island Hope Relief Team shared in a recent update. “These shipments represent the generosity of people who believe in helping their Jamaican brothers and sisters through this devastating time. We’re grateful that Eightpoint has stepped forward to support this mission.”
The organization continues to coordinate relief shipments and gather donations to support affected communities.
